This year marks the 10th Annual Confluence Summit, and with it, a bold and necessary theme: Co-creating a 10-Year Vision for a Regenerative Future for Alaska’s Outdoors.

Alaska’s outdoor recreation sector stands at a crossroads.

Federal and state budget cuts, agency staffing shortages, and mounting environmental pressures are straining the systems that support access, stewardship, and economic vitality. But challenge brings opportunity. Now is the time to think differently, act collectively, and expand the circle of collaboration.

Confluence 2025 is not your typical conference—it’s an unconference. That means fewer PowerPoints and more conversations. It’s about activating the wisdom in the room. Participants will form working groups around shared priorities to explore bold ideas, prototype solutions, and build alignment toward a regenerative vision—one that honors Indigenous knowledge, supports local businesses, protects natural systems, and uplifts community well-being.

Regeneration means more than sustainability—it’s about restoring vitality to Alaska’s lands and waters and to the people and communities who depend on them. That takes a bigger tent. So whether you’re an outdoor professional, Tribal leader, entrepreneur, youth advocate, policymaker, guide, researcher, or culture bearer, your voice matters.

Join us September 23–25 in Kodiak to help shape the next decade of outdoor recreation in Alaska. Let’s not just respond to crisis—let’s create a future worth inheriting.
