As Alaska Outdoor Alliance celebrates the 10th Annual Confluence Summit this fall in Kodiak, we’re not just marking a milestone — we’re charting a new course for the future of Alaska’s outdoors.

At this year’s Confluence we will introduce an innovative process called bioregional weaving — a way to connect people, place, and purpose to craft a regenerative vision for Alaska’s outdoor economy.

At its heart, bioregional weaving recognizes that Alaska’s outdoor economy is deeply rooted in its diverse landscapes, waters, and cultures — and that each bioregion, from Southeast to the Arctic, holds unique opportunities and responsibilities. By weaving together perspectives across sectors, communities, and geographies, we can create a statewide vision while honoring the distinctiveness of each place.

Confluence is designed to benefit everyone — no matter where in Alaska you call home. During the three-day summit, attendees will help draft Alaska’s first statewide regenerative vision for the outdoor economy — identifying key priorities and shared goals. By weaving bioregions into the conversation, we create space for diverse voices and shared leadership — and shine a light on opportunities within each unique corner of Alaska.

You’ll leave with a clearer sense of how your work contributes to a statewide vision, and inspired to bring regenerative principles into your own backyard.
