We talk about Alaska’s outdoors like it belongs to everyone.
But not everyone has had a real hand in shaping it.
That’s what this workshop series is about.
Not a webinar. Not a panel. A working space to build something practical:
a framework and toolkit for how the outdoors can actually work better—for land, communities, and future generations.
Who should be in the room?
If you’ve ever thought “there has to be a better way to do this”—this is for you.
That includes:
Tribal leaders and community voices
Land managers and policymakers
Builders, guides, and business owners
Educators, youth leaders, and creatives
Anyone who spends time on the land and pays attention
No title required. Just perspective.
Why show up?
Because this isn’t about listening.
It’s about shaping.
Each session starts with a few short provocations followed by Q & A —then opens up.
Then through guided conversation we will rely on the Zoom chat function to keep a record of ideas. So . . .
Drop a thought
Build on someone else’s
Share what you’re seeing on the ground
That’s how this gets made.
What are we building—and who is it for?
A practical framework and toolkit for:
Communities navigating tourism, access, and change
Organizations and entrepreneurs trying to do this work differently
Policymakers aligning investment with real benefit
Designers, planners, and funders who want better outcomes
Not theoretical. Usable.
Why now
Decisions are being made every day about Alaska’s outdoors.
Who benefits. What gets built. What gets protected. Whose stories are told.
If we don’t shape that intentionally, it gets shaped by default.
