At Confluence, amazing conversations take place and actions get set in motion.

Confluence 2025 is not just another annual gathering. This year marks the launch of an 12-month process to create a 10-Year Regenerative Outdoors Vision for Alaska—a plan that will guide how our lands, waters, communities, and outdoor economy thrive over the next decade.

With the summit just weeks away, here’s why acting now matters:

1. Airfare Increases Are Coming

For those traveling to Kodiak, ticket prices typically rise about two weeks before departure. If you’ve been considering attending in person, now is the moment to secure your seat while travel costs are still manageable.

2. Early Registration for the Online Vision Weaving Circle Ends Sept. 23

Not everyone can travel, and that’s okay. The Weaving Circle Online Series is designed to expand participation statewide. Early registration ($299) closes when Confluence begins—after Sept. 23, the price rises to $349. Early registrants will also be acknowledged as part of the Charter Weaving Circle in the final Vision Report and Implementation Strategy.

3. Lightning Talks & Learning Journeys Will Educate and Inspire

Confluence has always been a place to learn from one another and spark new ideas. This year’s program continues that tradition with:

  • Lightning Talks – rapid, 7-minute presentations from leaders in outdoor recreation, culture, economic development, and funding.

  • Learning Journeys – on-the-ground experiences in Kodiak that bring local perspectives and cultural knowledge to life.

Whether you’re in Kodiak or tuning in online, these sessions will inspire your thinking and fuel the conversations that shape the 10-Year Vision.

4. This Is the Starting Point

Whether you gather in Kodiak as part of the in-person Charter Circle or participate online through the online Vision Weaving Circle, Confluence 2025 is where it all begins. From September 2025 through late 2026, Alaskans will engage in:

  • The Charter Circle in Kodiak (Sept. 23–25) – a pilot gathering to spark the vision.

  • The Weaving Circle Online (Oct 2025 – May2026) – eight statewide sessions on stewardship, health, economy, culture, infrastructure, active transportation, funding, and climate.

  • Synthesis & Weaving Session (June 2026) – bringing threads together into a draft plan.

  • Implementation Design Lab (Fall 2026) – translating the vision into action steps.

  • Final Vision Report (Late 2026).

Don't think of Confluence as just another conference—it’s the first step in a collaborative process that will shape Alaska’s outdoor future for the next decade.
